How to use catch-up TV in Tevium

Catch-up lets you rewind live TV and watch programmes you missed. Here is how it works in Tevium and what your provider needs to support.

Catch-up opens a programme from your provider's archive, so you can watch a missed broadcast and seek through it. Here is how to use it in Tevium.

What catch-up does

Catch-up lets you:

  • Rewind a live channel you are watching
  • Pause live TV and resume where you left off (timeshift)
  • Open past programmes from the guide and play them

Not every channel has it. Your IPTV provider enables catch-up per channel, so if a channel does not support it, Tevium cannot add it.

What you need

Your provider must support catch-up on the channels you want. Tevium detects this from your provider's playlist or API and shows a catch-up badge on supported channels.

How to use it

  1. Open the Live TV guide.
  2. Look for channels with a catch-up indicator.
  3. To rewind, pause a live channel and seek backwards.
  4. To watch something you missed, open a past programme in the guide and select it.

Frequently asked questions

Why does catch-up not work on my channels?

Your provider has not enabled it for those channels. Catch-up is a provider feature, and Tevium only surfaces it where the provider offers it.

Is timeshift the same as catch-up?

They are related. Timeshift is pausing and rewinding the live stream you are currently watching. Catch-up is opening programmes that already aired. Tevium supports both.

Does catch-up use extra data?

Yes, as with any streamed video. Catch-up and timeshift stream from your provider, so usage depends on how much you watch.
