How to set up parental controls in Tevium

Lock categories behind a PIN and keep the household on the right channels. A quick guide to Tevium's parental controls.

Parental controls in Tevium let you lock categories behind a PIN, so younger viewers stay on the channels you choose. Here is how to set them up.

What you can do

  • Set a four-digit PIN
  • Lock entire categories behind that PIN
  • Protect settings changes with the PIN

Step 1: Open parental controls

Open Settings, then Parental controls.

Step 2: Set a PIN

Choose a four-digit PIN and confirm it. Tevium stores it as a hash, not as plain text.

Step 3: Lock categories

Select the categories you want to protect. Any locked category will ask for the PIN before it opens.

Step 4: Test it

Go back to the home screen and try to open a locked category. You should be prompted for the PIN.

Frequently asked questions

What if I forget my PIN?

Tevium stores the PIN as a hash and cannot recover it. If you forget it, you can reset parental controls, which clears the PIN and locked categories.

Can I lock individual channels instead of categories?

Tevium locks at the category level, which covers most household use. You can also hide individual channels from the channel list entirely.

Do parental controls work across profiles?

Each profile can have its own PIN and locked categories, so different members of the household can have different rules.
